The Ahmedabad Police have arrested a 21-year-old for duping youth by promising visas to different countries. Several youths fell prey to his unrealistic promises and lost a huge sum of money.
The Police arrested Rajesh alias Raj Dhanani, who was absconding after a case has been registered against him. His accomplices were, Mahesh and Jeet were also booked under the visa fraud.
Vijay Pande lodged a complaint against Dhanani, who paid Rs.25000 for a passport he never got.
Police investigation in the case revealed that many people are involved in the case. Pande the prime accuses started his consulting firm in Ahmedabad, promised the youth of getting them visas for the United States.
The three accused were from different regions, moved to Ahmedabad to do business in the city. Raj Dhanani’s family lives in Ahmedabad, earlier was active in the textile business, with his brother. Police are yet to close on the number of people involved in this plot and the role of arrested people in the case.
The Police sub-inspector, detection of crime branch said that "The three accused had different roles in the office. Dhanani was managing office operation while the other two provided other services to clients. We are working to nab them."
